Rohen - Cake Smash

Rohen’s Mama came to me with the sweetest theme for her handsome little guy - Where the Wild Things Are! How special and cute is that?! It was one of her favorite books as a child and judging by Rohen intending paging through the book, it’s one of his favorites, too.  Rohen was kind of hilarious. He was so mesmerized by the mirror in my camera moving every time I took a picture that he forgot to smile… luckily his mom has the BEST monkey impression that kept both him and I laughing the whole time. Also, I’m sure I’ve said this before butttttt… the medal for World’s Most Beautiful Family goes to these guys ;)  Enjoy Rohen’s Cake Smash! Happy almost birthday, little dude!

Jaidee - Newborn

I’m going to be honest with you. Jaidee had ZERO interest in sleeping for her newborn session. She was much more interested in what I was doing - notice the one eyed thing going on ;)  But her and I made a deal - she was allowed to stay awake if she stayed nice and happy for me. And she did! This gorgeous girl was joined by her twin sisters and parents and seriously… have you ever seen a more good looking family?!  They were all a joy to work with. Somehow these twin 3 year olds managed to stay so well behaved for Jaidee’s almost 3 hour long session.  Big props to Jaidee’s Mama for some of the cutest props. That hand painted sign is to die for!  Enjoy favorites of this sweet girl. I could NOT narrow it down to just a few!

Kolbie - One Year Old

Kolbie is exactly the child I would expect from my dear friends Seth and Kirsten.  At only one year old she is smart, sweet, loving, and determined. For her first year of life she wasn't really a big fan of smiling for me but she did have the cutest face where she would stick out her bottom lip and stare with those big beautiful eyes.  This time I got LOTS of smiles! And even more importantly - we got her in the tutu that she absolutely hated as a newborn :)  When your Mom own a dance studio, tutus are a must! Enjoy some favorites of this birthday girl!

Addie - Cake Smash!

This very loved, special girl is turning one and I can’t even believe it.  Just like the poem goes, “I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep”.  Addie is practically the size of her parents now and has the spitfire, funny personality that she was destined to inherit.  I feel like just yesterday I was snuggling with her and getting all the feels when she sucked her thumb.  Addie’s mom had the BEST idea for a Cake Smash - a mermaid theme! I think it might just be one of my favorite girl set ups yet!  We jam packed lots of goodness into this session - parent AND grandparent shots, the cutest pictures of Addie in her little romper and dress, and squishing around in some cake!  Enjoy some favorites from this adorable session. Happy almost birthday, Adalyn!

The Shanahan Family

Many, many years ago I went to the same church as this lovely family - Zach was in diapers and I knew Mr. Shanahan as "Mr. Keith" as he taught our Sunday School class.  Fast forward 20 some years later and here I am!  Their personal family photographer ;) Last year I had the funnest senior session with Zach and I had the privilege of photographing Tyler & Lindsay's first pregnancy/beautiful baby girl. Now I got to work with the whole gang! After a day full of Mini Sessions, I was pretty excited to see them because I knew it would be an easy/fun hour. And also becauseee I got to see that beautiful baby Miss Harper!!!!  Look at her sticking out her tongue!  Enjoy the Shanahan's autumn family session.. it's so die for!

Raelynn - Newborn Session

Sweet Raelynn. I could not get enough of her. She has the biggest beautiful eyes and is her daddy's twin (Sorry Kara!).  I had been eagerly awaiting this pretty girl's arrival and I was so excited to do an "autumn" theme with her.  She was the easiest baby - aside from pooping and peeing all over her mom, haha!! Aside from that she was a doll and gave me the most beautiful session. I'm 99% sure one of these will end up in my studio, what do you think? Enjoy some favorites!!

Rohen - Newborn Session

Rohen is SUCH a stud.  From the big blue eyes to this chubby little belly to his beautiful tan skin.  I mean, whoa. This kid should be in magazines. Rohen's parents did a great job of providing ideas and themes for Little Man's session. Maybe a little too good of a job... their full gallery took me days to edit, it's so large! Rohen didn't mind though. As long as he was cuddling with mom and dad or laying on his favorite team gear, he was happy as could be.  Rohen's dad is a Northern Wrestling coach so I LOVE that he lifted his head for the shots with his dad's gear! And can you even handle his grumpy face (in picture with dad) or how he is casually posing by leaning on his hand (in picture with mom and dad)?!?  What a natural. Enjoy some of my favorites from Rohen's session!

Sophia - Newborn Session

I swear all of my customers look like supermodels lately. As you can see, Sophia and her family were no different. According to Sophia's mom she had been awake all day before her session so we were expecting her to be zonked out. Nope. She'd rather hang out with us ;) I cannot believe the big smiles we got out of this little girl!  Finally she did fall asleep and looked like a little angel in her cute clothes & on my bed prop. I keep telling myself I need to cool it with the teal & purple at newborn sessions but I couldn't help it. Sophia just looked so dreamy with these colors. I think my studio is screaming for one of these as a canvas, don't you think? Enjoy my favorites!

Charlie - Cake Smash

This is my third time working with Charlie and her family. I knew from experience that it wasn't going to take much effort to make this a great session. The first great thing that happened is we beat out a storm! The second great to happen was even though Charlie wasn't all about the camera at first, she was the cutest cuddling with mom and dad -- these are always my favorite kind of shots! Charlie's mom added some personal touches that I adored like the burlap sign with her name and a letter & jewelry box from Charlie's grandmother. Little lady's cake smash was a dream - I love everything about the cake, her tutu, the light pink accents, and her gorgeous eyes. She didn't face plant in the cake as every photographer dreams but she did stick her foot in! That's just as good :) Enjoy my favs.

Adalyn - One Month Old

Ohhhh Adalynnnnn. Her and I bonded. I'm sure I spent at least a half hour nuzzling and cuddling with her.  Even looking at these pictures I have hearts in my eyes because she is just the sweetest soul. I'm going to be honest, one-month-old sessions can be pretty difficult. They are too big to fit into newborn props (Sorry for trying to stuff you into that basket, Addie) and they're too little to hold their head up and sit up. But Adalyn and I were buds, so she did the right thing and slept for most of her session.  And can we talk about these family shots?! Baby girl, you are so loved by everyone. Here are a few favorites!

Kolbie - Newborn Session

I absolutely adore the Klines so I was more than eager to meet their beautiful new baby girl. Kolbie did not disappoint. She was the most gentle soul and had the prettiest details (THOSE EYES!!)  We talked & cuddled her whole session so we're basically best friends at this point ;) Kolbie might not be digging the tutu now, but with her mommy being the awesome owner of Reverence dance studio (check her out here!), I think she will warm up to it eventually. Seth & Kirsten, thank you for sharing your precious gift with me! She is so blessed to have you both as parents.

Nowwww some favorites!...

Arianna - Newborn Session

I dieeee over Arianna. Between the chubby cheeks, the looks she gives, and "her" fashion sense, I couldn't get enough. She wasn't much of a sleeper but that's okay when you have big beautiful eyes like her. These are some of my favorite parent shots I've ever taken so sorry if there is a lot ;)  Enjoy my favs!

Savannah - Newborn Session

This beautiful girl has been long awaited. I couldn't wait to meet her and make some beautiful portraits for her parents (who are good friends with my fiance and I).  She was a perfect angel as long as I didn't try to put her hands on her belly ;)  I cannot wait to watch Savannah grow. If she's this beautiful now, imagine as she grows up. Enjoy my many favorites!

Liam - Cake Smash

Liam's family lovingly call him "Happy" as a nickname and I discovered why at his session.  He was all smiles from start to finish.  Liam loved laughing at his mommy & grandmother, cuddling with his stuffed elephant, riding his car around, and spending time with his beautiful big sister Lillianna.  Eating cake? Meh. Not so much. But he humored us for a handful of adorable pictures of him sticking his fingers in his cake. Enjoy some of my favorites from Liam's baseball themed Cake Smash Session!

Charlie - Newborn Session

It takes a lot for me to get baby fever but Charlie sure did it to me. He might not like sleeping for his parents but he was an angel for his session. The Clippingers live on a beautiful property that was perfect for family shots & the CUTEST "fishing" shots. (That little foot hanging off the tackle box just kills me!) Sarah worked really hard to make this a great session & it shows. If Charlie is this cute now, I don't know if I can handle him as he grows!  Enjoy some favorites!

Josephine - Cake Smash Session

Josephine's girly vintage cake smash was so sweet (despite dark, dreary weather!).  I've been having success with cake smashes lately (nooo tears!) and this one was no different. Although Josephine was a little weary about this crazy lady following her around with a camera at first, she eventually realized anything was game - including throwing her toy penguin at me, climbing on furniture, splashing around in the bath tub, & digging for pink frosting in the middle of her cake. You'll notice a "Little Women" book placed in some of her cake smash shots.  This was a beautiful touch added by her parents as Josephine was named after her gradmother, who was named after a character in the book. Enjoy some of my favorites from this session-- and there are a lot!
