Welcoming Bristol Mavis!

Exactly a month ago on April 17th we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Bristol.  She came flying into this world within an hour and has been keeping us on our toes ever since.

Bristol is already the perfect fit for our family with her sassy-but-sweet attitude. She loves her big brothers (yes, even when they’re screaming), being held, eating (constantly) + when we make crazy sounds. She can sleep up to 6 hour stretches at night.  I adore her big blue eyes + how excited she gets when I talk to her. The jury is out which parent she looks like right now … if you ask me, she looks exactly like daddy but I have baby pictures to prove otherwise ;) You can blame her for the fact it took me this long to post her newborn portraits!

Please welcome Bristol to the Jessica Snider Photography family!

I grew up with a bit of an obsession with unicorns + horses - here's hoping Bristol loves them, too! Haha!

Fun fact: We let the boys pick Bristol's middle name.  If you have ever watched the movie Hotel Transylvania, you may have heard the name Mavis before ;)

Another fun fact: Bristol had ONE SINGLE TEENIE TINY eyelash during her Newborn Session (pictured here). Literally the day after her session these big beautiful lashes popped out!

In honor of her grandfather who is no longer with us <3 We have a shot like this with all of his grandchildren when they were babies.

Adalynn - Cake Smash

Mothers of baby girls beware! This post is most likely going to convince you to go buy everything unicorn! When Adalynn’s mom said she wanted a Unicorn Cake Smash, I died a little of happiness. Her session couldn’t have turned out more perfect. Isn't she her mama's gorgeous twin?!

Sweet Adalynn - I can’t believe I am writing about your One Year Pictures! I remember when your mama told me she was pregnant with you + your family prayed for you. Now, look! You are the most precious, sweet thing + it’s no surprise that your mama is your best friend. It’s been a blessing watching you grow this past year.

Enjoy SO many favorites!

Michael + Christina - Married!

Michael + Christina are the sweetest, smartest people I have ever met so it’s only natural that I adored photographing their wedding (and engagement session!). Their Big Day was at a beautiful venue called the Mercersburg Inn. It was full of beautiful character, history + it fit Michael + Christina’s classy style wonderfully. The Acela wedding felt like a big party among best friends + made for the sweetest gallery.

Michael + Christina were married outside surrounded by beautiful mums, family + friends. Then we explored around the beautiful property that was bursting with autumn colors.  I had a lot of favorite moments from Michael + Christina’s wedding - their First Dance song being “Nothing Else Matters”, the fact that Christina had a framed portrait of Cinderella as her bridal inspo, the fact that Michael had an extra awesome person in his grooms party - his sister!   Oh, + of course the very hardcore dance moves that happened at the end of the night ;)

Most of all, my favorite thing in Michael + Christina’s wedding is the giant smiles the two of them had while they were together.  If anyone deserved this flawless wedding, it was this incredibly brilliant + fabulous couple! I have LOVED getting to know them. Enjoy some favorites!

Jacob - Newborn

Let’s just say Jacob made quite the first impression when he arrived at my studio.  It involved lots of baby wipes, a clothing change and possibly a need for a new car seat cover - HAHAH! But really Jacob was a total joy. I couldn’t stop photographing him as he was always changing up the poses and doing the cutest things with his hands. I didn’t have the heart to do many hat pictures because - HELLO - the most gorgeous red hair ever! And of course those cute cheeks that just grew when he would smile. One of my favorite images from this gallery is definitely the one with his dad holding him and his mom giving him a kiss on the cheek.  He absolutely adores those two! What a perfect session to share right before Mother’s Day. Enjoy some favorites from this adorable guy’s session!

Seltzer Hart Family / Grace's Donut Smash

Colt + Amanda have always been the King and Queen of Personalized Portrait Sessions! Together they handcraft their own props, bring home-grown flowers + come with such creative ideas. I should have known this session wouldn’t be less than spectacular. 219 edited images later + this session has EVERYTHING! Extended family (shout out to Alyssa + Kevin whose wedding I will be shooting SO soon!), just the 3 of them + a celebration of Grace turning 2. Amanda baked donuts for Grace to have a Donut Smash! (She even sent a bunch home with me - which my boys devoured within days. They were delicious!) Grace, being the child of the coolest parents ever, definitely committed to making this session one-of-kind … by smashing her face in her donuts and giving the most hilarious faces! It’s just something you have to see for yourself. Enjoy a very cut down version of an incredible session!   {Keep scrolling to see the Donut Smash!}

Alexander - Newborn + Maternity

Holy moly, I’m blogging!

This blog post has a little bit of everything amazing. Alexander is the sweetest of the sweet. The hardest part of my job is being able to play with beautiful babies like him - and then having to give him back! He had the best time posing with his mom + dad (although he was a little confused what all the kisses were about!), with his stuffed lamb that made an appearance in his maternity session + in some fun animal gear! Easter is Alexander’s mommy’s fav holiday + rumor has it she was a little teary-eyed while he was sporting his adorable bunny ears ;) And of course, he had to be a deer to put a smile on his hunter dad’s face.

I’m also finally blogging Adrean + Rachel’s maternity session which is a favorite of mine! We had such glowy light, some belly laughs + obviously the cutest parents-to-be.  I loveeee when parents buy packages so I can keep seeing them while their little one grows!

Enjoy some favorites of these sessions!

Peyton - Newborn

I kept calling Peyton my allstar baby because photographing him in every set up was a breeze.  With that being said, I had to cut this blog post down to 1/3 of his images because he has SO many in this gallery.  Can you handle those lips, thick dark hair and adorable cheeks!?! Ahhh, and his proud big sister is just as adorable!  Peyton was also the first baby I ever did a golf theme with - so fun! I cannot even wait to see how much adorable he becomes as he grows - if that’s even possible! Enjoy just a few of my many favorites from Peyton’s session.

Addison - Newborn

Well, the bad news is Addi isn’t very into sleeping. The good news is, she’s adorable and we made it work anyways! Addison’s mama soon deserves some gorgeous pics of her little because she worked as hard as I did during this session! (Dad, well… he was our DJ + live entertainment ;) ) Anyways, pretty girl wanted to stay tucked in most of our session and that is A-Ok with me. That’s how babies really are, right? Aside from her array of cute handmade props from her grandmother (UM YODA?! REALLY?!) she also brought along the biggest pair of gorgeous baby blues that I got to capture at the end of her session.  My only hope is that she ends up half as hilarious as her parents - andddd maybe grows to like me more (talk to me when you can eat candy, Addi!) ;) Enjoy some favs from her session!

Rohen - Cake Smash

Rohen’s Mama came to me with the sweetest theme for her handsome little guy - Where the Wild Things Are! How special and cute is that?! It was one of her favorite books as a child and judging by Rohen intending paging through the book, it’s one of his favorites, too.  Rohen was kind of hilarious. He was so mesmerized by the mirror in my camera moving every time I took a picture that he forgot to smile… luckily his mom has the BEST monkey impression that kept both him and I laughing the whole time. Also, I’m sure I’ve said this before butttttt… the medal for World’s Most Beautiful Family goes to these guys ;)  Enjoy Rohen’s Cake Smash! Happy almost birthday, little dude!

Hailey - Newborn

I have been waiting for Hailey to come along practically since I met her parents years ago.  Hailey’s mom and dad are the CUTEST couple and I could not wait for them to start a family! So here is this beautiful girl that has been long awaited! And she was so worth the wait.

Hailey had a bit of a rough start into the world so her session came when she was a few weeks old. She didn’t love being on her belly but she LOVED laying on her back, wide awake which was so fun because most babies hate that! We got some beautiful smiles, incorporated beautiful props that Hailey’s mama brought along, and she even hung out in her dad’s guitar case without a single fuss. Enjoy favorites from Hailey’s session!

Airlee - Newborn

I loveeed this session! Firstly, Airlee and her family are some crazy form of family that are just SO good at being in front of the camera. There was no awkwardness or forced smiles - they are really just this sweet and endearing when they’re together. Airlee’s big sister is kind of the best at her job. I got the sweetest shots of her shhh-ing Airlee to sleep (a definitely favorite of mine!!!). And if that wasn’t enough - Airlee was wide awake AND fast asleep during her session so we got a lot of both. I’m kind of a sucker for green and purple (and lavender!) but if I were to pick a favorite set up, it would probably be the guitar shots we did just for dad. Airlee also has a very special birthday - the 4th of July!!! - so it’s only fitting that she gave the biggest grin while holding the American flag.

Enjoy this sweet session!

Nathan - Newborn

Some how in the hurry and scurry of the past week, I forgot to put Nathan on the blog and this is NOT a session I don’t want documented for all to see.

I absolutely adore this family. Nathan is the sweetest, calmest babe and I can guess it comes from his parents and brother - who are so loving and soft at all times. I got a little too excited when Nathan’s dad dropped firefighter gear on my studio floor. I just happenedddd to have a fire truck prop at home just waiting to be used! These are some of my favorite portraits - from tons of sweet family shots, Mom and Dad’s nurse/firefighter gear being incorporated, Nathan’s beautiful little face, and lots of GREEN (a color I don’t get to work with much) this session is kind of Heaven for me.  Big brother was my buddy, too ;)  Don’t these boys belong in a child’s magazine?!

Enjoy lots of favorites!

Jaidee - Newborn

I’m going to be honest with you. Jaidee had ZERO interest in sleeping for her newborn session. She was much more interested in what I was doing - notice the one eyed thing going on ;)  But her and I made a deal - she was allowed to stay awake if she stayed nice and happy for me. And she did! This gorgeous girl was joined by her twin sisters and parents and seriously… have you ever seen a more good looking family?!  They were all a joy to work with. Somehow these twin 3 year olds managed to stay so well behaved for Jaidee’s almost 3 hour long session.  Big props to Jaidee’s Mama for some of the cutest props. That hand painted sign is to die for!  Enjoy favorites of this sweet girl. I could NOT narrow it down to just a few!

Kolbie - One Year Old

Kolbie is exactly the child I would expect from my dear friends Seth and Kirsten.  At only one year old she is smart, sweet, loving, and determined. For her first year of life she wasn't really a big fan of smiling for me but she did have the cutest face where she would stick out her bottom lip and stare with those big beautiful eyes.  This time I got LOTS of smiles! And even more importantly - we got her in the tutu that she absolutely hated as a newborn :)  When your Mom own a dance studio, tutus are a must! Enjoy some favorites of this birthday girl!

Asher - Newborn

I had JUST shot Adam + Amber’s maternity session a week before when Asher made an early arrival. So early that I never got to blog their maternity session (which was one of my all time favs so obviously I needed to post some today).  Now Asher is here and he has got to be the most handsome guy I’ve ever met. He’s nice and tall with the cutest little hair curl in the front! He slept and smiled through his whole session so he’s pretty much model material in my book.  Enjoy some of my favorites of his session and alsoooo some favorites from Adam + Amber’s maternity session!

Finallyyy posting some of their beautiful nautical themed maternity session!

Bryce - Newborn

My biggest little guy went to the same preschool as one of these little guys and I was so excited to hear they would be adding another brother to the family.  I couldn't wait to find out what Bryce looked like and once he was finally here, I could not get over all his hair!!! I must have played with his hair and rubbed his head the whole session.  Another thing that struck me was how much he looked like his big brother, Caden.  Bryce's dad was in the Navy so it was their idea to add a bit of a nautical theme at the end. I have to say, I think the world of these guys! These boys spent 3 hours sitting in a hot studio with me and they barely made a peep while I coaxed their little brother to sleep.

Enjoy some favorites from Bryce's newborn session! (The first session of manyyy newborn sessions heading your way the next few months!)

Camille + JP - Children Session

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve seen this family and since then their little baby is now a sweet young lady and they added another squishy guy to the mix! To say I had the best time with them is an understatement. Confetti, bubbles, chocolate chip cookies, Frozen songs, lots and lots of balloons - I brought out all the stops for their session! I’m so glad I did because Camille and JP were photographic all stars.  Photographing two under two isn’t always easy but just when I thought the kiddos had had enough, they would bust out their big beautiful smiles.  I have to just mention that their Mama is also an all star - she managed to help throughout the whole session including blowing bubbles, fake sneezing, and making silly faces all while always holding a kiddo at the same time.  Can you say Mom of the Year?!  We managed baby portraits, 2 year portraits, sibling shots, and even some mommy and me shots. All in two hours!!!  As always it was great catching up with this family - they are always a joy to work with.  I made sure to get these edited today just so I could post this next sentence on their blog post…. Happy 2nd birthday, Camille!!! You are the smartest, most beautiful little girl! <3

 Enjoy my favs!

Harper - Cake Smash

Miss Harper ran (and I mean literally RAN) through my studio doors with this big giant grin and she didn’t stop with the cuteness the whole time she was with me.  The last time I saw her was back in October and somehow she managed to transform into little person since that time. What a big, happy personality! It makes you happy just to watch her.

Her session was full of all the things I love - insanely fun parent portraits, tulle outfits, a smiley little lady, and glitter. I was excited about her birthday theme - pink, gold and white Minnie Mouse - but I was so much more excited seeing everything I picked out being tied together and making for the cutest scene. Just add soon-to-be one-year-old and you’re golden! Harper wasn’t a big cake eater (maybe it had something to do with the icing gluing her fingers together) but she smashed the cake jussssstttttt enough to make this a favorite of mine. I can’t blame a girl for not wanting to be messy!  I can’t wait to see where Harper’s beautiful personality puts her in life! I have a feeling, somewhere quite amazing.

So without further ado, my favorites of Harper’s Cake Smash!

Henry - Cake Smash

I died and went to Heaven when Henry walked into my studio door.  Those big beautiful eyes and toothy grin was all I needed to brighten my day. It helps that he has a kick ass wardrobe to go with his handsome self ;)  I have to say I LOVE Henry’s parents. I mean, so FUN. So CARING. And it certainly shows in their family pictures (some of my all-time favorite family shots!)  I was telling the Patrick family that I tend to give too many pictures in galleries; not necessarily because every shot is posed and perfect, but because I feel the most UNperfect shots (you know, the silly ones that show personality!) need to be included to be able to tell the story of Henry. He is the perfect example of this! His gallery is made up of his silly personality, big happy grin, curious nature, and his sweet, cuddly nature, as well too.  I’d like to think when Henry is a teenager or getting married or having his own family that his parents can look back on this session fondly and remember what a sweet kiddo they have raised!

I’m also jealous of Henry’s Cake Smash theme. Airplanes. LOVE THAT IDEA. I had wanted that for my youngest son about a year ago and we just couldn’t pull it off at that time. This time around, I had ideas and the Patricks had a big airplane! We went for a more classic take on this idea by adding an antique plane toy and paper airplanes. I know I say this all the time but… this could be one of my favorite Cake Smashes?!

Enjoy the beautiful personality that is Henry!
